Chris Woodcock

Our goal is to guide people...guide them in a way that makes them feel as comfortable off-road as they do on road. Instill confidence in them like they may have never seen or felt before. One man, one machine. The connection is amazing
— Chris

Chris has been in Law Enforcement for the better part of 15 years and has instructed numerous classes along the way in all facets of public safety. Once an Emergency Medical Technician who was Certified in Wilderness EMT, Chris has the knowledge base needed in this area to ensure our groups are covered if anyone needed assistance. Chris is also a Certified Maine Recreation Guide and has been in that capacity since 2017, guiding since the inception of his first guide business which started in 2012. He enjoys guiding groups outdoors and on the trails where his #1 goal is to ensure the client is 100% happy with their adventure.

Chris’s off-road adventures started with the use of his father’s 1969 Toyota FJ40 back when he had barely obtained his license in 1995. This vehicle would pave the way for many to come, which included a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle, a 1988 Ford Bronco II on 32’s, “The Heavy Chevy” a 2002 2500HD, a 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, a 2010 Toyota FJ cruiser and his current roamer, a 2010 lexus gx460. His most recent purchase is a 1997 Stewart and Stevenson M1078 which will be outfitted with living quarters for adventure travel all year long and all throughout North America. Chris has enjoyed experiencing the last 25 years of exploring off road and can’t wait to show others the amazing places he’s been and will continue to go, for years to come.

Darryl “reverse Tombstone” Sawtelle

All I ever wanted to do was get out there and explore. Now being part of NAC I get to do that and guide other people to some amazing places they may have never seen on their own.
— Darryl

Darryl is a Northeast Adventure Company staff guide. He was introduced to off-roading by his father and started wheeling his first vehicle at 16 and He’s been turning wrenches on vehicles since long before that. He realized he wanted to add more adventure into his off-road travels and has been transitioning to the overland world since 2018. However, his 2012 Wrangler Sahara JKU is now the most capable off-road rig in the NAC arsenal with 37” tires, gears, and Trutrac mechanical lockers front and rear. Darryl’s driving and spotting skills, local knowledge and laid-back demeanor make him a perfect fit as a NAC guide.

You may be wondering where the handle Reverse Tombstone came from. After tackling the Tombstone trail at Rausch Creek in PA, Darryl turned around and did it backward! The name just stuck after that.
